The Baptist Church Archives is calling for help from people skilled in the art of restoring woodwork! The Archives have recently been entrusted with the War Memorial Boards from the old Nundah Memorial Baptist Church honouring soldiers of World War I. But after nearly a century hanging in the church and then in storage, they are in need of cleaning and restoration.
The Archivist, Dr Pam Condie, OAM, said, “This is a delicate job which requires someone with care and expertise. We would not want to do anything ourselves in case we damage these important artefacts. We are privileged to have custody of them and would like to have them carefully and expertly restored so we can display them proudly.”
There are two honour boards (see photos), the original church notice board from 1888 and a massive elaborate hymn board.

So the Archives is making a call for interested and capable people to make contact, or to suggest those who could. Dr Condie added, “We would like to get on with this project as soon as we can.”
