Job Title: Associate Pastor / Youth & Children's Ministry Leader

Position Overview:
We are seeking an Associate Pastor to take on a pivotal role within our church. The primary focus of this role is to plan, develop, and oversee various programs and activities catering to children and youth. The goal is to nurture their spiritual growth, provide guidance, and cultivate a sense of community and belonging. In addition to youth and children's ministry, the Associate Pastor will play a significant role in supporting the Senior Pastor in shepherding the congregation, offering spiritual guidance, and overseeing various aspects of our church's ministries.

Key Responsibilities:

Programs:

  • Create and execute age-appropriate programs and activities for children and youth, including Sunday School, youth groups, and special events.
  • Lead and facilitate the Mainly Music Program, which operates every Thursday morning during the school term.
  • Develop a curriculum that aligns with the organization's mission and values.

Youth and Child Engagement:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with children, youth, and their families to better understand their needs and concerns.
  • Provide pastoral care, mentorship, and support to the young members of our community.

Spiritual Leadership:

  • Assist the Senior Pastor in providing spiritual leadership, guidance, and pastoral care to the congregation. This includes preaching and teaching during worship services, delivering meaningful and relevant messages.

Community Engagement:

  • Engage in community outreach efforts to connect with and serve the local community. Serve as a bridge between the church and the community, fostering positive relationships and partnerships.

Administrative Duties:

  • Collaborate with the church staff to assist with administrative tasks, such as event planning, coordination, and budget management. Ensure the smooth operation of various church functions.

Qualifications:

  • Ordained minister registered with the Queensland Baptist Movement.
  • Demonstrated experience in pastoral ministry and church leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated to providing pastoral care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse groups.
  • (Preferred) Knowledge of child and youth development, child protection, and safety guidelines.
  • (Preferred) Passion for working with children and youth, with the ability to engage and relate to them.

  • Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications as per Queensland Baptist guidelines.
  • Possible accommodation at the church Manse (3 bedrooms) from March 2024 onwards.
