Position: Senior Pastor
Church: Hervey Bay Baptist
Hervey Bay Baptist Church is seeking to recruit an experienced Senior Pastor for a church that reaches 800+ people and has an average weekly attendance of 350 people, based on the Fraser Coast at Hervey Bay, Queensland.
In 2020 Hervey Bay Baptist Church celebrated more than 100 years of service in the community. Over that time the Church has continued to grow, reaching out to the community of Hervey Bay and beyond. During that period, we have enjoyed a time of relative stability whilst continuing to grow. Today our Church employs the equivalent of 7 FTE paid staff and operates with the volunteer effort of more than 190 people across 9 key Ministries and numerous support ministry areas. Approximately 800 people call HBBC home and/or connect with our community throughout any given month. As a growing regional city, we also have many new people joining us each year.
We have one main service on Sundays at 9.30am and a range of ministries to children, youth and young people, prayer and inner healing ministries, Pastoral Care supports, COACH Family Mentoring, 30 Life Groups, an outreach Playgroup, an Empowered Faith Community to the homeless and the Alpha Course operating throughout the year.
Our key Church doctrine is articulated in our Constitution, and Our Vision for the outworking of our faith in community, is that ‘we see lives and families transformed as we all live out the ways of Jesus.’ The calling of our Senior Pastor to continue to oversee and lead our Church community, alongside the Elders and Pastoral Lead team, is important to continue the work that the Holy Spirit has been guiding in our people and community. These are exciting days, with many challenges ahead and we know that this role is essential to continuing God’s work in our Church and community.
Remuneration: as per Baptist Union of Queensland “Ministerial Remuneration” guidelines for an ordained Senior Pastor.
