SEEKING A SENIOR PASTOR
Introduction
The North Haven Baptist Church family is seeking a full time Senior Pastor, a man called, shaped, and equipped by God to disciple and lead us in the next chapter of following our Lord Jesus, growing in Him and serving Him in the dynamic and growing region of Camden Haven on the beautiful Mid North Coast of NSW.
Community Profile
The Camden Haven locality, a scenic delight bounded by beaches and mountains and blessed with an abundance of lakes and waterways, has for a long time been a destination for holiday makers. In recent decades it has become a haven for retirees with ongoing expansion of retirement villages, resorts, and aged care facilities. Recent years has seen a boom in private housing for younger working families and retirees alike, an ongoing phenomenon.
Pastoral Profile
Our Church Constitution identifies the qualifications of a pastor as being grounded in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Peter 5:1-4. From a recent survey members identified desirable qualities they would like to see in our next pastor, such as ... foremost a teacher/preacher of the Word and a shepherd/nurturer of Christ's flock; an encourager, comfortable with pastoral visitation, and able to train and equip us to minister to others; a man who works well with the church leadership; a man of prayer and not influenced by modern, liberal ideas. It is envisaged that the pastor will have credentials acceptable to the Association of Baptist Churches NSW & ACT or is willing to attain those credentials and holds to the doctrines set forth in the church's Constitution. This is a full-time position remuneration for which is in accordance with recommendations provided by the Association of Baptist Churches NSW & ACT, including stipend, allowances, superannuation and leave entitlements. A four bedroom plus study manse is provided as part of the remuneration package.
